We are calling for proposals for presenters on these subjects:  Deaf Education and Community Bridging for our biennial state conference this fall.

If you are interested, please download the document, fill out the application, and send it to us by June 9th.  We are sorry about the short time frame for submitting proposals, but we are working on a tight timeline.

Concord Car Wash Fundraiser

Hello, NHAD will be hosting one of its car wash fundraisers on May 21st, 2017 at Arnie’s Place in Concord, NH from 9am to 2pm.  So, stop by to get your car washed with a donation.  While your car is being washed, you can check out delicious grub at Arnie’s–BBQ, homemade icecream, etc.

We need a bigger and badder crew to help out to make this car wash successful, so volunteers wanted!  Volunteers will get free membership (either for this year or next year, depending on their current status).

St. Patrick’s Day party and April social event

1.  St. Patrick’s Day Party

March 11, 2017 5pm to 10pm

Admission:  NHAD memebrs $8, non-members $10, age 5 to 9 $6, age 65+ $6, under 5 free.

There will be door prizes for wearing the most green.  While a main course will be provided by board members, this is a potluck so please bring a dish or dessert to share.  Punch will be provided but water and soda must be purchased at the bar.

April 15th, 2017 5pm to 10pm

Activities and an egg hunt will be provided for children.  A main course will be provided but please bring a potluck dish or dessert to share.

There’s a bill in the works for language assessment for DHH children

Hello everybody. I would like to announce an exciting time! For Early Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children in NH, I have been working on a bill. Now it is in the House of Representatives, awaiting to be approved and moved to Senate.

This bill, if passed, requires all DHH children to have language assessment in the language(s) they use, for the Department of Education to develop language milestones for age 0 – 5, track and monitor these chidlren’s language development, etc.

The hearing is already scheduled for 11AM on January 25th in room 207 at the Legislative Office Building in Concord. This hearing is open to the public.

Chili Contest Event in January 2017

An announcement from Social Events coordinators Lori and Sheila:

Chili Contest! Who makes the best chili?
Members- $8, Non-Members $10. 6 and under free. 6-12, Seniors $6.
We will have Corn Chowder, Vegetarian Chili and Gluten Free Chili for people who don’t eat chili. Mac n cheese will be available for children.
50/50 Raffle and LCR table game.
Awards to 1st place and runner up for best chili.
Plenty of parking in parking lot and handicap access. We will provide drinks.
Those who don’t eat chili can bring in a dessert item.

NHAD will be hosting a holiday party on December 10th, 2016, at the Alpine Club in Manchester.

Cost:  members pay $8.00, non-members pay $10.00

children under 5 come for free, $6.00 for age 5 to 12
